Educational Services January 6th - PE Teachers During the PDAC feedback last spring, it was shared that there was an interest in PE specific professional development. We are excited to bring this to you on January 6th. Please join everyone in the gym for the welcome, and then you will be having a training just for PE teachers in the Eich multi for the remainder of the morning (during the choice session time). Educational Services K-8 Math: Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) Collaboration Opportunity Building Thinking Classrooms is a book written by researcher and professor, Dr. Peter Liljedahl. In this book Liljedahl presents 14 teaching practices that are meant to enhance learning by increasing student engagement, collaboration, and discourse. A Message from the Deputy Superintendent Thank you for your valuable feedback regarding the behavior-focused session during our October 31st Professional Development Day. Educational Services followed the PDAC plan, aiming to provide opportunities for educators to learn and collaborate on effective behavior strategies. When planning PD, we consult with other districts and spend considerable time planning with external presenters to ensure the content meets our expectations. However, we recognize that the behavior sessions, at Eich and Stoneridge, did not meet the high standards we strive for, and many educators left without new strategies or actionable insights. While the content was important, the presentation did not fully engage participants or address the practical strategies and collaboration opportunities that were expected. Business Services SUN Bucks Card Distribution As a reminder, on Wednesday, November 13th messages will be shared with some of our families. Envelopes containing EBT cards are going out to all schools tomorrow and Friday. For Elementary, please be sure to hand these out during Parent-Teacher Conferences. For Middle, please hand them out during the week of November 18th. As these cards were sent to RCSD in error, we do need to refer any questions to the SUN Bucks helpline listed in the messages. Educational Services Report Card Reminder Elementary Report Card Information Report Card Prep is November 13, 2024. Report cards must be sent home by Friday, November 22nd or with parents at Parent Teacher Conferences. Please work with your principal on if report cards will be emailed or printed and by when. Teachers will have the ability to print their own report card in PTP. We will have optional Zoom training on November 4th from 2:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Here is the Zoom link .
