Communications Accessibility Tip: Always Use Headings Headings may look decorative, but they are actually the "roadmap" screen readers use to navigate a page. In text editors, you’ll see these labeled as Heading 1 (H1), Heading 2 (H2), and so on. A screen reader uses these levels to create an outline that a user can navigate seamlessly. Here are some tips to make sure that you are using headings correctly: Headings are used in descending order (H1, H2, H3, etc.) Headings are not used as decoration or for visual emphasis Heading levels are not skipped (e.g., H2 to H4) Use only one H1 per web page or document Contact: Sydney Roll Educational Services i-Ready Inform Window 1 The i-Ready Inform Window 1 will end on Friday, September 4th.
