In Remembrance of Rich Sorenson
We wanted to let you know Rich Sorenson passed away early last week. Rich was the principal of Crestmont elementary for over twenty years. Anyone who worked with Rich got to see first-hand how much he cared for his students and staff.
Rich always made sure his presence was felt at Crestmont. He would play with students at recess, talk to parents before and after school and knew almost every student by name. He was approachable and available to everyone.
He would share his stories about his football days, golfing, or when he was a teacher in the Sac City School District. He loved talking about his houseboat adventures with his wife Diane and their three boys, Zach, Nick, and Josh. He was so proud of his family and most recently proud to be a new grandfather.
Rich was an amazing person and we are lucky that he served the District and our students for so long.

Rich walked his dog around our neighborhood every single night. He was a devoted pet lover and a staple on our sidewalks. I will miss seeing him and his pooch....
