 Make it a "Bones" Day!

With the end of the Trimester upon us, we want to take a moment to thank every person in the District for their continued hard work! This is the long part of the year with few breaks, much work to be done, and sometimes you just want to make it a "no bones" day. But we encourage you to forge ahead and make it a great "bones" day! You are amazing, and we thank you for all you do for RCSD and our students each and every day.

Ed Services Update

iReady Diagnostics
iReady Diagnostic Window 2 will be from December 6 to January 21. This diagnostic is required for all K-8 students. The diagnostic assessment should not be given outside of the testing windows due to:
  • Loss of instructional time
  • Testing fatigue
  • The iReady and RCSD recommended best practice is for diagnostic windows to be 12-18 weeks apart.
If you have any questions about assessing outside the diagnostic windows, please reach out to your principal.

If you would like data before the second diagnostic, please consider using Standards Mastery Assessments and Growth Monitoring Assessments. The Standards Mastery Assessments will provide data on specific standards, and the Growth Monitoring Assessment will show the likelihood of projected growth for the year. If you have any questions or would like more information on these assessments, please email me at kpaese@rcsdk8.org.

Marking Missing in Otus
The video below shows teachers how to mark missing, how to mass mark missing, how to remove missing, and what the parent and student see. One thing to note is that teachers cannot mark missing on a Plus Assessment. Teachers would need to assign a rubric (which you have blank templates in your Shared with Me Folder in Assessments) in order to mark missing.
