1/9 District PD Day Information

We are excited to have the District PD day on January 9th. We are lucky to have Phil Boyte here on that day. Phil is the founder of Learning for Living and the creator of programs such as Link Crew, WEB, and Breaking Down the Walls, and he wrote the book School Culture By Design.

Phil uses a variety of stories, audience involvement, and humor to reach staff to continue cultivating positive culture, no matter their role in education. He gives fun and exciting ways to build community and connection with students.

Schedule for the day:

Elementary School Staff

8:00-11:30 Phil Boyte Keynote and Choice Sessions at Eich

Middle School Staff

11:00-12:15- Drive Time/Lunch

12:15-3:00 - Phil Boyte Full Middle School Session at Eich (this has been changed from 12:00)

Parking Area

You can park on either the 7th/8th-grade side (off Sierra Gardens drive) or the 6th-grade side (off Oak Ridge). The blacktop will be open for parking; please see the map below.

We separated elementary and middle school PD to have less traffic and allow more space for parking. However, we know it is still a lot of staff and recommend leaving enough time to park and walk to the gym. Elementary starts at Eich at 8am, and Middle School at 12:15pm.

Ed Services Information

Raptor

Some staff throughout the district have received alerts about drills for Roseville District Administrative.  This building was created in Raptor in order to place staff that do not work directly at a school site.  An error happened within Raptor that has connected other staff to this building.  We are aware of this issue and Raptor is hoping to have it solved soon.

i-Ready Diagnostic 2

i-Ready window 2 is now open and will end on January 27th, 2023. This is a longer window to allow teachers to administer the diagnostic before or after winter break. Please work with your PLC to determine when to administer the diagnostic. Teachers can assign their own diagnostic assessments. For more information on how to assign a diagnostic, please visit the link below.

Personnel Information

COVID Leave Day Expiration

As a reminder, the State issued COVID leave days expire on December 31, 2022. The state mandated quarantine requirements for persons who test positive will remain. If you test positive for COVID, you will be required to quarantine at home for 5 days from your positive test date. You may test on Day 5 and if you are negative, you may return to work on Day 6. All COVID absences will be pulled from your own sick leave bank beginning January 1, 2023.

If you test positive, you are required to fill out the COVID 19 Results Reporting form, listed on the Staff Page on the RCSD website and Personnel staff will reach out to you with your individual timeline.

Frontline

All staff are required to enter their own absences into Frontline in a timely manner.  However, in some circumstances, a staff member may be unable to enter their absence.  In those instances site clerical staff can update and enter absences for staff.  This will ensure that absences are entered expeditiously and that office staff are aware of individual absences each day.

Teachers who have pre-arranged and confirmed the availability of a sub, may schedule and enter the sub’s name directly in Frontline.  This will allow for a more seamless and efficient scheduling for subs.

Requests For Leave

Beginning January 1st, no paper copies of the Request For Leave form will be accepted.  Please complete the digital form that can be found under the Staff Resources page on the RCSD website.  As a reminder CPI days, sick days (fewer than three consecutively), and vacation days (12 month employees only) do not need to submit a leave request and the days may be entered directly into Frontline by the employee.
