Lexia AutoPlacement Assessments
Please have all Lexia AutoPlacement assessments completed by 10/06/23. Please remember that students should be spending a minimum of 15-25 minutes on Lexia instruction. depending on grade level. Please adjust according to your students and their instructional goals. 
Kindergarten: 15-20 minutes a week
1st Grade: 20-25 minutes a week

Placer Nature Center Field Trips

Placer Nature Center is the field trip destination for 4,000 students annually! They offer age-appropriate programming in natural and social sciences. Program themes include habitats, watersheds, ecology, wildlife biology, and cultural history of the Sierra Nevada foothills. Their programs also meet the California Science State Standards to enrich school curricula. Please access the School Program Brochure below to register for a program.

PCOE Community of Practice Cohort

PCOE is beginning its first Community of Practice cohort this Thursday that will support educators in integrating SEL strategies and support activities into lesson plans. The CoP will discuss strategies to utilize talk structures for academic rigor, foster an academic mindset, and create safe and connected classrooms. Please see the flyer below for dates and times.

6-8 Math - enVision Feedback 

On October 30th 6-8 math teachers will receive enVision’s Program Implementation Essentials training. We are looking for teacher feedback to help us plan the topics covered in this training. Please use this form to give feedback on the enVision curriculum, and the topics you would like to learn more about.

K-5 Science: Science Materials

You can now order materials from the Discovery Education science kits, as well as materials often used in the Mystery Science activities. We will do our best to stock consumable materials listed here for each grade level. If you are interested in placing an order for materials, please communicate with your site’s LMS.  When orders are submitted, we will work to get the materials delivered to sites as quickly as possible, but please allow a two-week turnaround for this.

Wellness Program - Grokker Challenge - Sept 25 to Oct 13

It’s not too late, you can still sign up for the 10 Minute, No Limit!! Challenge - We challenge you to find me-time for 10 minutes a day, for 19 days.  There’s “no limit” on what you do as long as you focus on your wellbeing for 10 minutes a day. All RCSD employees have access to a free Grokker account. If you haven’t registered for Grokker, please go to this LINK to unlock your free access. This challenge will be a site/dept team event. All participating district employees must complete the SIG Wellness - Annual Wellness Waiver of Liability form.  The completed form can be sent to Laurie Milton in Personnel.

Google Workspace for Education Changes

Beginning October 23, 2023, Google Workspace for Education will undergo changes that require all third-party apps and Chrome extensions to be reviewed and confirmed by the District before staff or students can access them. The good news is that we've already prepared for this change with the implementation of App Access Control last Spring.


We have surveyed our LITE team to identify commonly used Chrome extensions throughout the District and will pre-approve the below list prior to the change:

Chrome extensions not approved prior to October 23, 2023, will be inaccessible.
