COMMUNICATIONS

Every Day Matters Attendance Campaign

In early August, RCSD launched our district-wide attendance campaign, "Every Day Matters" and your support is vital in making it a success.

Why Attendance Matters:

As educators, we are well aware of the importance of regular attendance for our students' academic, social, and emotional growth. Consistent attendance not only enhances their learning experiences, but also sets the foundation for lifelong success. Each day a student is present in the classroom is an opportunity for them to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our District Attendance Campaign:

To address attendance challenges and improve student outcomes, we’ve launched a comprehensive district attendance campaign. This campaign aims to raise awareness about the significance of attendance, provide resources and support to students and families facing attendance barriers, and ultimately boost our district's overall attendance rates.

How You Can Help:

We believe that every staff member plays a crucial role in this campaign's success. Here are some ways you can contribute:

  • Build Relationships: Establish strong connections with your students. A positive staff-student relationship can motivate students to attend school regularly.

  • Early Intervention: Be alert to signs of absenteeism or disengagement in your students. Report concerns to your site administrator.

  • Parent and Family Engagement: Encourage open communication with parents and guardians. Help them understand the importance of attendance and involve them in addressing attendance challenges. Please refer families to our "Every Day Matters" webpage with multiple educational and community resources.

  • Celebrate Attendance: Recognize students for improvements in attendance. Positive reinforcement can motivate students to be present.

  • Spread the Word: Share information about our attendance campaign with your colleagues, students, and their families.

Together, we can make a significant impact on our students' lives by improving their attendance. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the attendance campaign, please feel free to reach out to Jessica Hull, Executive Director of Communication and Community Engagement at jhull@rcsdk8.org or 50132. Thank you!

The Google Translate extension was added to all RCSD-issued student Chromebooks on 9/25/2025. If needed, students are now able to access Google Translate directly from the tab they are working from on their Chromebooks. Note: All families were notified of this added extension and were given an opportunity to opt-out if desired.
