ParentSquare Contact Number for Staff Members
We have set up a new page in the teacher portal called "ParentSquare Notification Details." This page allows staff to enter their mobile phone numbers to opt-in for ParentSquare notifications in the future.
We will update all staff in a future communication when the ParentSquare system is ready to be updated with phone numbers.

Grades in Otus
When using the Otus gradebook, please remember to assign the correct subject standards. For example, as an English teacher, please assign ELA standards.

K-1 Lexia Licenses
All Kindergarten and First-Grade students have a Lexia Core5 account. Students and teachers can access Lexia via Clever. Please have all Kindergarten and new student Auto Placement assessments by October 4th, 2024. Any students that had access to Lexia last year will have their lesson placement continued from the previous year. Please have Kindergarten students working on Lexia for 15-20 minutes a week and First-grade students for 20-25 minutes a week. For more information, please see the Lexia Resources document below.

Elementary Social Studies Pilot and Feedback

K-2 Benchmark Foundational Skills Committee
We are looking for teachers interested in participating on a K-2 Foundational Skills committee to discuss the lessons and scope and sequence of the foundational skills in the updated Benchmark. Teachers on the committee are excited to use the Benchmark Curriculum foundational skills lessons with fidelity in order to be able to accurately review the curriculum and communicate the effectiveness of the lessons. If you are interested in participating, please see the information below and submit this form by September 4th, 2024.

Updated K-5 Benchmark Tier 1 Learning Targets- Tri. 1
All K-5 Benchmark Learning Targets documents have been updated to reflect the updated Benchmark curriculum. Only Trimester 1 for each grade level has been updated. We will continue to update these documents and the assessment bank throughout the year. For detailed information on the updates, please watch the Screencastify video linked below.

K-5 Math Think Central: Trouble Accessing Resources
If you are having some strange glitches or inexplicable problems inside Think Central while trying to access resources, you will need to clear your cache in Google Chrome. For instructions on how to do this, please click here.

i-Ready Window 1
i-Ready Window 1 is from August 12th - September 13th. The first Diagnostic for Math and Reading is automatically assigned to each student. Please note that students in grades 3-8 will no longer receive results for Phonological Awareness. The PA column will say “Not Tested”. For more information please refer to the Non-Grade Level Domain Placements. For ways to engage students and families, please visit i-Ready Central or check out these i-Ready Certificates.

You will soon be able to request materials from the warehouse for your science lessons and labs. Look for more information in next week’s Educator Digest about how and when you can start placing orders.

Classified Job Fair
Do you know someone that is interested in joining the RCSD team? Please encourage them to attend the Classified Job Fair on September 11th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the District Office
We will be offering informational sessions, opportunities to meet hiring managers, as well as immediate interviews.
We are looking to fill vacancies for the following positions: Instructional Assistants, Custodians, Bus Driver, Food Service Staff, and Substitutes.
