ParentSquare Updates
- Employees with personal accounts in ParentSquare may have encountered an issue on Friday toggling between personal and RCSD accounts. This was the result of a bug on the ParentSquare side. We believe this issue has now been resolved, but if you experience any issue with the toggle, or cannot access your RCSD account, please contact Jessica Hull (jhull@rcsdk8.org)
- Wanting to know how your families are engaging with your ParentSquare messages? From your most recent post, click the “eyeball” logo which shows a number “notified” and you’ll be taken to the delivery statistics page. This will show you how your message was (or was not) delivered contact by contact. An “N/A” in the text column means that person is not signed up for text messages and an “N/A” in the app column means they have not downloaded the app.
- If you wish to reach out to families via email to encourage them to sign up for texts and/or app notifications, please find sample messaging here.

Cybersecurity Advisory: Critical Apple Security Updates
Apple has released critical security updates to fix vulnerabilities that could allow hackers to access devices, install harmful programs, or steal information. Some of these security flaws may have already been used to target older versions of iOS.
To protect your information, the district recommends that all staff update their district-issued and personal Apple devices as soon as possible. While we encourage updates on personal devices, please note that the district is not responsible for personal technology or any issues that may arise from updating those devices.
District-Issued Device Updates
The district will automatically push updates to district-issued Apple TVs and iPads in the coming days. MacBooks will receive update notifications ("nudges"), prompting staff to install the latest security updates. We encourage staff to complete these updates as soon as they appear.
Updating your devices regularly is one of the easiest and most effective ways to stay secure. Follow the steps below to check for and install the latest updates.
How to Update
For iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch:
- Open Settings → General → Software Update
- If an update is available, tap Download and Install
- Follow the prompts to complete the update
- Click the Apple menu () → System Settings → General → Software Update
- If an update is available, click Update Now
- Open Settings → System → Software Updates
- Select Update Software
Keeping your devices up to date is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect against cyber threats. Hackers actively search for outdated devices with security flaws, and installing updates ensures you have the latest protections.
