One the RCSD Continuous Learning Site there is a page with tutorials on how to use Google Classroom.  Parents should not be signing up with Gmail accounts as students in the Classroom. There are videos and guides on the site under Parent Resources helping show parents how they can log their student on to their account.

Tech Support
Please continue to submit a support request via SchoolDude if you have any questions, or if you have a student or family requesting support. Technology Services will be happy to assist you, and provide you with steps or a resolution you can share with your student or family.

In order to provide the best continuous learning education if the schools are closed longer than April 14th, we will be checking out mobile device(s) to any TK-8th grade students who do not have access to a device at home for online learning opportunities, or if a family has multiple students having to share a single device. The PDF linked below was sent to all families today. Please see the link for more information and the deployment schedule. Cirby families, please note you will receive an email specific to your school site for date and time.

Progress Reports
Progress reports were supposed to go home on April 3rd.  Teachers should NOT send anything home regarding progress during this time.

Free Meals to Families
We understand that ongoing nutrition and food resources may be a need for our families. Currently, RCSD has four school sites serving meals. Those sites are Woodbridge Elementary, Cirby Elementary, Eich Middle School, and Buljan Middle School. All four sites will serve meals from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Students can pick up a breakfast and lunch meal combination at the same time. All meals will be served in grab-and-go bags for students to take home. Due to social distancing, we will not be providing areas for students to congregate and eat on the school sites.

Standardized Tests
Governor Gavin Newsom has approved canceling all required summative assessments for the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.  The U.S. Department of Education announced last Friday it will grant waivers to any state that is unable to assess its students due to the ongoing crisis.
For the Initial ELPAC there has been a grace period approved.  Upon schools opening again, schools will have 45 days to administer the Initial ELPAC.

Teaching Writing Resources
Here you will find some resources to support activities for writing during our distance learning time.  As a reminder, our goal for writing during continuous learning is the following:
-Practicing the type of writing students have already been taught this year.
-Focus on daily low stakes writing:  quick writes, sprints, writing to a prompt or picture, etc
-Focus on daily writing volume, stamina, and offering students comments and feedback for their daily writing.
