Middle School ELA Pilot Community Review Nights (5th-8th Grade)
Emails went out last week inviting all 5th-8th grade families and community members to preview the two middle school ELA pilot curriculums. We had our first community review night Wednesday, March 6th and we will have one more on March 13th from 5:45 to 6:45 at the District Office. If you have any questions regarding the pilot curriculums or the community review nights, please let me know.

Mentor Teachers Needed for Student Teachers - 2024/2025 School Year
It is that time of year again, where we are asking for volunteers to host Student Teachers & Interns for the 2024/2025 school year. Typical placements are from August to December or January to May. A few placements may run year long. We are looking to place student teachers across both Elementary & Middle School classes, including PE & Music. Mentor teachers must meet the following criteria:
  • Minimum 3 years teaching experience (does not have to be with RCSD)
  • Current credential for the subject you are teaching (No inductions or preliminary credential accepted)
  • Approval of your site principal
If you are interested in hosting a student teacher for the upcoming school year and meet the above requirements, please complete this form. Deadline to apply is March 30, 2024. Student teachers are assigned on a first come-first serve basis, so the earlier you sign up, the better chance you have of having a student join you!

Technology Services Teacher End-of-Year Checkout - Technology As we near the end of the school year, we would like to share some guidance regarding the end-of-year checkout process for teachers' technology items. Please take a look at the below steps to ensure a smooth distribution and collection of items. The Information Systems Technician team will be distributing Ziploc bags to each site no later than June 6th based on certificated rosters. Principals and site clerical should then work internally to distribute the bags to each teacher. Ziploc Bag Distribution Each teacher will be provided one Ziploc bag for their current room. Teachers are required to place their iPad, Apple TV, charging bricks, charging cables, and remotes (both Apple TV and TV) inside the Ziploc bag. Each Ziploc bag should be clearly labeled with their respective current Room #. EDUCATIONAL SERVICES Elementary Report Card Info We will have optional Zoom training on November 1. This is the same training as the one offered on October 25, just offered on two different days.The training will be 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Here is the Zoom link. Elementary Domain Scores This a reminder that you do not need to score all domains in Tri 1 and 2.  All domains should have a score in the 3rd Trimester as they are yearlong standards, and the final report card should show all Domains assessed in your class. A domain that is not scored in the 1st trimester should have a score of NA. A student that comes in the middle of a Trimester receives a Domain score on anything that they have had: Sufficient Practice (practice aligned to the learning target), Feedback (timely, specific, aligned to the learning target), Opportunity to improve learning based on feedback from the teacher.  If a student has received that for a domain, then it is appropriate to give them a summative score on a
