ParentSquare

• All ParentSquare data is fed from PowerSchool and is updated nightly. If changes are made in PowerSchool for student information, including parent/guardian contact information like phone number and email address, it will not be populated in ParentSquare until the following day.
• Staff members (and parents/guardians) can update their notification settings to receive any combination of email, text, and/or app notification by going to “My Account” and “Notification Settings.” All email notifications are set to digest (which is 6 p.m. daily), unless changed.
• On timing for posts: In the notifications tab, there are three options - send at user preferred time, send immediately, and do not notify. You'll never select do not notify. If you are sending something not time sensitive, you'll send at user preferred time - some who have removed the digest notification will receive it at the time you send it and everyone else will receive it at 6 p.m. If you send immediately, it'll send then (if you post now) or at the time you schedule it to send - for example, if you want a message to send at 4 p.m. and you're scheduling it at 10 a.m., you'd select "send immediately" and then schedule it for 4 p.m. All would then receive at 4 p.m. If you send at the user preferred time, some would receive at 4 p.m. and all others would receive in their digest at 6 p.m. Keep in mind also, if you send something after 6 p.m. (let's say 6:40 p.m.), you want to send it immediately or else some receive it that night at 6:40 p.m. and others receive it the next day at 6 p.m. as that day's digest was already sent. Note the number of receivers for digest which appears when you select the different options to confirm you are selecting the option you want.

RCSD District and School Websites
All RCSD websites (including schools) are now configured for Google authentication.
If a staff member is already signed into their browser, they can seamlessly access the website by simply clicking the "Log In" button. If not, they will be prompted to sign in with Google using their District email and password.

Any changes or questions regarding websites, ParentSquare or social media should be directed to Jessica Hull (jhull@rcsdk8.org) through email. Please do not submit a tech support ticket for any of these topics.

TK-5 Professional Development Cycle
One Cycle of TK-5 Professional Development will be held this year. All substitute assignments for the PD will be arranged by Sub Services. Please review this PD Cycle Schedule to see which date your PLC will be attending and email Kelly Yusim if you notice any discrepancies in grade level placements or PLC members listed. More information will be shared as your PD date approaches.

i-Ready Window 1
i-Ready Window 1 is from August 12th - September 13th. The first Diagnostic for Math and Reading is automatically assigned to each student. For more information on ways to engage students and families, please visit i-Ready Central or check out these i-Ready Certificates.

6-8 Math IXL Snapshot Diagnostic and enVision Skill Plans
IXL Snapshot Diagnostic
Window 1 is from August 12th - September 13th. The Snapshot will pop up as an option for students when they log in. Students can click the X in the corner to ignore it, or “Get Started” to complete it. If students ignore it, it will not affect their skill plans. Students can access the Snapshot at any time during the assessment window from their home screen as well.


IXL enVision Skill Plan
Good news! IXL has skill plans for the enVision curriculum. Watch this short video to learn how to pin the skill plan and assign skills.
