Assessment, Grading and Feedback Team Information and Application - Middle School Staff
Dear Middle School Staff,
Based on staff and community feedback, we will begin the transition back to an A–F grading scale to be implemented in the 26/27 school year. We are forming a Middle School Assessment, Feedback and Grading Team to help guide this important work.
The goal of this team will be to develop shared commitments around assessment, feedback and grading that support consistency and coherence across all sites and subject areas in RCSD.
We are seeking representatives from each middle school and across all content areas to ensure diverse perspectives and voices are part of the conversation.

i-Ready Diagnostic Window 1

6-8 Math: IXL Math Diagnostic - Real-Time Diagnostic Setting and Analytics
The window for the IXL Diagnostic closes September 5.
Activate the Real-Time Diagnostic
Once your classes have completed the LevelUp Diagnostic, you can encourage your students to keep their levels current by turning on this setting in IXL. Go to the Assessment tab in the green section at the top and then click the over button, and then click the small star icon in the box.


LevelUp Diagnostic Analytics
There are several reports to analyze your students’ diagnostic data. This resource reviews the report options available in IXL.

K-5 Math: Creating a PDF of Student Workbook Pages (Color Version)
If you would like to share links to the Math Expressions Student Activity Book units or import them into applications for note-taking (i.e., Goodnotes), you can download an in-color version of them in the At-Home Learning Support in Think Central.

K-8 Science Materials: Ordering Materials from the Media Center
You can now order materials for science labs from the Media Center. To see a list of what is available for ordering, please use the first tab on the sheet linked below. To place an order, please follow the steps provided at the top of the first tab called “Complete List/Order Form”.
Important reminders:
  • Be sure to rename your copy of the spreadsheet with your last name and school site.
  • Be specific about the quantities needed for each item.
  • To submit your order, share the list (print or digital) with your Library Media Specialist.

Second Step (K-8)
Second Step is our district-wide tier 1 SEL curriculum. Access Second Step through Clever. Second Step doesn’t automatically roster/connect to PowerSchool; you need to create your class(es). Once you click Second Step in Clever, answer the initial questions and then click create class under My Programs.
K-5: Make sure to view “Digital Program”

Benchmark App in Clever
When accessing the Benchmark through the app in Clever, please select Benchmark Advance-c2022 California program to access your ELA Teacher Editions and additional materials. Please use Express to access your ELD Teacher Editions and curriculum.

Personnel Services

Required Public School Works Training Due September 15th
This is a reminder that all required Public School Works training is due by Monday, September 15th. Classified employees must submit their time sheets directly to their sites, and certificated employees must complete their training by the deadline to receive their additional pay. Supervisors are able to see who has completed the training. If you have questions or need assistance with troubleshooting, please email Katherine Goldman in Personnel.
