Communications
It’s that time of year again, and we’re excited to invite you to help us make a difference for local children through the Tommy Apostolos Fund (TAF) Shopping Day.
TAF is a local nonprofit dedicated to helping children in Roseville and surrounding communities by providing clothing, shoes, and other necessities. Each year, children enjoy a special shopping experience at Kohl’s alongside caring community volunteers. More than a shopping trip, it’s an opportunity for children to feel supported, valued, and cared for by their community.
We ask that you think about the students in your school who might benefit most from this experience and submit a nomination. Kindergarten through 5th grade students may be nominated. We especially appreciate your help identifying children whose families may be facing financial challenges, as well as children going through a particularly difficult time who could use some extra encouragement.
Please carefully review all student contact information before submitting a nomination. This information is used only to send the application directly to the family and is kept confidential.
Nominations are due Tuesday, September 30, 2026. Late nominations will be accepted only if space is available.

Technology Services
Over the coming weeks, we are standardizing our student video tools across the district. To simplify classroom workflows and keep student Chromebooks running efficiently, we are retiring both Screencastify and the native Screencast app on student devices and moving to Google Vids as our single platform for student recording and editing.
Why This Matters for Your Students
- All-in-One Creation: Google Vids gives students a single, intuitive space to record their screen, edit clips, and build video presentations without needing separate extensions or apps.
- Seamless Workspace Integration: Because Vids lives directly inside Google Workspace, students can easily collaborate on video projects, pull in slides, and save work straight to Drive without running out of local device storage.
- Fewer Logins and Distractions: Standardizing on one tool means less time spent troubleshooting app access or managing accounts, and more time focused on creative learning.
- Get Started with Vids: Bookmark and review our new Google Vids How-To Guide to see how easily you can integrate video recording into your upcoming lessons.
- Paid Site Licenses: If your school has an active paid Screencastify site license, please submit a Zendesk ticket before September 25 to help us prevent any loss of access.
