Roseville City School District is seeking interest from current certificated staff members who are interested in developing their leadership skills, learning more about school and district administration, and pursuing an administrative credential through PCOE's credential program.

Roseville City School District is seeking interest from current certificated staff members who have completed or are currently obtaining their administrative credential, and are interested in becoming an administrator in the near future. This professional learning opportunity is designed to help aspiring leaders expand their administrative knowledge, strengthen their leadership skills, and gain a deeper understanding of the roles and responsibilities of school and district leaders.
Participants will attend three 90-minute sessions from 3:30–5:00 p.m. on the following dates:
- November 12
- January 13
- February 10

K-5 English Learners and Designated ELD
All Initial ELPAC scores are now available, which means we have updated proficiency-level information to help guide instruction for our English Learners. Designated ELD groups should now be established, with Designated ELD instruction taking place daily. As you plan for Designated ELD, remember that our Benchmark Express ELD curriculum also includes online resources to support language development instruction. Please be sure to check-out the “Additional Resources” tab within each unit in the online resources in Classlink. The additional resources often include graphic organizers and scaffolds that can be used across subject areas to support language development.

Update: November 2nd Professional Development - Elementary Staff
Please note that we are shifting away from the Choice PD format for our upcoming Professional Development day on November 2nd. This change is being made because we currently do not have enough presenters to provide a sufficient variety of sessions for all staff. Additionally, we want to be mindful of the lift site teams are doing with instructional work and new PBIS shifts. Your principal will share details in the upcoming weeks.

Technology Services
As we prepare for the upcoming Certificated MacBook refresh, please take a few minutes to review the action items below to ensure your files and data are safely backed up.
For step-by-step instructions on moving your files, please review the How-to Guide: Backing Up Files.
Your site’s Leader in Technology Education (LITE) has the complete roster of staff eligible for this refresh cycle. Please reach out to your LITE to:
- Confirm your eligibility for the refresh.
- Get guidance on transferring your files to Google Drive or an external USB drive.
- Get help troubleshooting any questions you have about the backup process.
If you encounter issues while backing up your files before deployment day, please contact your LITE first. If you still need assistance after working with your LITE, submit a Zendesk ticket so our team can help troubleshoot the issue before deployment.
Once you’ve confirmed that all of your files are safely stored in Google Drive or on an external USB drive, please delete local copies from your Desktop, Home folder, Downloads folder, and any other local storage locations, then empty your trash folder. Once your old device is returned on deployment day, any files remaining on the device will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered.
Keep Saving Your Files During the Transition
Our new MacBooks are not scheduled to arrive until November. In the meantime, please continue saving any new or updated files directly to Google Drive or your external storage. Making cloud or external-storage saving a habit now will help ensure your most current work is protected and ready when you receive your new device.

In July 2022, Google Workspace transitioned from unlimited storage to a pooled storage model. Under this model, the District’s total Google storage allocation is shared across all users and Shared Drives.
Since September 2025, RCSD’s Google Drive storage usage has increased by approximately 8 TB. As storage continues to grow, we need to be more intentional about how the District allocates storage so it remains available and sustainable for instructional and operational needs.

What If a Student Needs More Than 20 GB?
We recognize that legitimate instructional situations may require a student to have additional storage.
If a student has a demonstrated need for more than the standard 20 GB allocation, Technology Services can review the student's Drive usage and support additional storage if needed. Please submit a Zendesk ticket with the student's information and a brief description of the instructional need. We are happy to review these requests individually.

What is changing?

Students who have accumulated larger files over time, however, may need assistance reviewing and removing items they no longer need.
How Teachers Can Help Students Free Up Space
- If a student is approaching or has reached their storage limit, please encourage them to review their Google Drive and remove unnecessary files. Some good places to start include:
- Large files, particularly videos, audio files, images, and other media.
- Old files that are no longer needed for current classes or schoolwork.
- Duplicate files or multiple downloaded copies of the same document.
- Files in the Trash. Items in Trash continue to use storage until you permanently delete them.

Upcoming Toshiba Copier Security Changes
On October 1, 2026, Technology Services will be updating Toshiba copier scanning options to strengthen security and reduce unnecessary access to District data.
What is changing?
- Foothills scan-to-folder option will be removed (e.g., SITE-SHARE, BUSINESS-SHARE, ED-SERVICES, etc.). Toshiba copiers are considered Internet of Things (IoT) devices and are managed in part through third-party hardware and services. Providing these devices with read/write access to a District file server creates unnecessary access to potentially confidential information. Removing this connection follows the security principle of least privilege by limiting copier access to only the systems and data required for their intended function.
- Scan-to-email will use secure links accessible only within the district's network. Instead of receiving a scanned document as a permanent email attachment, staff will receive a secure link to access the scanned file. This reduces the number of scanned document copies retained in email and limits long-term exposure of sensitive information.
