October 30th PD Day
Hello General Education Teachers,
We are busy planning your PD day on October 30. We are looking forward to both elementary and middle school having choice PD on that day. Please take a moment to share suggestions for what sessions you are interested in attending, or topics you are interested in learning more about. Thank you for your time!
Session Suggestions for October 30, 2017
If you are interested in being a presenter on October 30, please complete this application form! We are looking forward to teacher presenters sharing best practices and strategies in the classroom. Thank you for, “Daring Greatly!”
Presenter form/application: Presenter Application Form
We are excited for Lisa Highfill to be our keynote presenter on that day! Lisa wrote The Hyperdoc Handbook. Her keynote will highlight ways to use technology to help maximize time with students and help build better relationships, shift our thinking away from the ways we have always done things, and how we can get students to collaborate and communicate more. She will also be leading breakout sessions on Hyperdocs, Hyperdoc Maps, and Multimedia Text sets.

Progress Reports
Just a reminder progress reports go home on October 6th. For elementary schools, the progress reports can be accessed in PowerTeacher Pro and will need to be printed. For middle school, a school messenger will need to go home on that day to remind parents to check PowerSchool.

The Education Conference is on October 7th at William Jessup. The cost is $50. Please see the flyer for more information.The Education Conference Brochure
TechFest
TechFest is a great technology conference run by CapCUE. The cost is only $75 for the day and will be held at Rocklin High School on September 30th.

PARC- Spark the Fire
On Sept. 28th Barrett Ranch Elementary in Dry Creek, under the leadership of Dr. Don Vu will be opening up their school to share their journey as they traveled through Steven’s books together and SPARKED THE SPIRIT OF READING among their students. Visit their thematic Reading Lounges, all five of them. Then begin reading Steven’s books with your staff and spread the spark in your own schools!

EdTech Bootcamps
Level 1 Certification Bootcamp - November 4-5, 2017 cost $299
Level 2 Certification Bootcamp - February 3, 2017, cost $199
Google Certified Trainer Bootcamp - April 14-15, 2018 cost $299
Preference will be given to those applicants who request funding for any of these areas.
The RCSD Foundation will award grants up to $750 per individual teacher or $2,000 per grade level or departmental team.
PIE Grant Program applications are due by Friday, October 13, 2017.
PIE Grant Program recipients agree to attend the November 2, 2017, Board meeting in order to receive your grant allocation, and the May 31, 2018, Board meeting in order to report the results of your student work.
