Otus Updates
Rubric - Allow Submission Without Attachments
Students can now submit a Rubric assessment without adding an attachment. Teachers have requested this feature because sometimes the assignment/assessment does not require any kind of upload to Otus.

To Do List - Do Not Display “Excluded”/“Excused”
In the Home module’s “To Do List,” Otus will no longer display assessments that have submission statuses of “Excluded” and “Excused” in the “Assessments” section for both teachers and students.

Advanced & Simple - Update “Not applicable”
In the “Grading” page for Advanced & Simple assessments, it will now display “No submission” instead of “Not applicable” in the data table.

Two Email Improvements
When a teacher or parent sends an email through Otus, the sender will still say mailbox@otus.com. However, emails sent via the Mailbox will now display the user’s name as the sender and also in the footer. This helps students and parents know who the email is from.

The second improvement is if a parent messages directly through Otus it will now show who the message if from more clearly. In emails sent by Family users in their Classes module will display the user’s name, their student’s name, as well as their relationship to the student next to their email in their footer.

Mystery Science Elementary Teacher Feedback

As we start trimester three, we are hoping to gather feedback on Mystery Science and how it is working in your classrooms. This feedback will provide us with an understanding of how we can better support you with the implementation and use of Mystery Science and how you feel this product is supporting our students' science learning. Any feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Please complete this form by 3/17/23.  Thank you!

Chat GPT Update

Chat GPT is no longer blocked for RCSD Educators. It is still blocked for students on district devices.

A reminder for staff to never put any student information on platforms like this or any platform that we do not have a student data privacy agreement with. We look forward to continuing to learn how to use this tool as educators. We will share interesting/educational articles about GPT like the one below:
