1/9 District PD Day Information We are excited to have the District PD day on January 9th. We are lucky to have  Phil Boyte  here on that day. Phil is the founder of Learning for Living and the creator of programs such as Link Crew, WEB , and Breaking Down the Walls , and he wrote the book School Culture By Design .   Phil uses a variety of stories, audience involvement, and humor to reach staff to continue cultivating positive culture, no matter their role in education. He gives fun and exciting ways to build community and connection with students. Translation Add-On for Google Slides & Resources for Newcomer English Learners The Translate My Slide add-on is an approved add-on for Google Slides that can be used to translate individual slides or complete slide presentations.  Here is a 1-Minute Screencastify showing how to install the Translate My Slide add-on.  This information has been added to the other translation resources that can be found on the Supporting Newcomers in RCSD Document .  Contact: Jennie Ruvalcaba i-Ready Diagnostic Window 2 and Family Communication The i-Ready Window 2 is from December 12th to January 27th. Otus Feedback Form We currently use Otus as our learning management system (lessons, make a copy of a Google doc for each student, have students complete assignments) as well as for grading and report cards. We know Otus has met some of our needs while falling short in other areas. There have been some improvements, while other feedback has been given and improvements have not been made. We want to gather feedback to decide the next steps for Otus after this school year. This feedback will also help us determine if our elementary and middle schools need different products. Wellness Information - Walking for Mental Health We are all aware of the health benefits of walking. Thankful Turkey at Blue Oaks K/1 Information K/1 Lexia Information Night On Monday we had a Lexia Information Night and had a great turnout of K/1 families. Families were provided with an overview of the Lexia student experience as well as resources to support student learning at home.
